DJ GIGS:

With a DJ career spanning over 20 years, Chris has held residencies at many revered UK clubs, among them Ministry of Sound, Cargo, 93 Feet East, The 333, London’s iconic Jazz Cafe and Birmingham’s Custard Factory. Festival bookings have included Glastonbury, London Jazz Festival, Mostly Jazz Festival, Supersonic and Soundwave Croatia. Chris has played at a catalogue of the UK’s best known clubs including London’s Fabric and Manchester’s Warehouse Project. Live DJ Sets have appeared on Boiler Room, Spine TV and Music is My Sanctuary’s 24 Hours of Vinyl among others. Chris has travelled extensively, performing dates across Australia, Asia, the USA and Europe and continues to DJ regularly in the UK and Europe.

LIVE PERFORMANCE:

Throughout the early 2000s, the Substance club night married DJ performances with improvised live sessions from the night’s house band. In 2001, Chris brought together an extended line up of the band to perform a live session on Radio 1’s One World Show.

Chris later joined the line up of Maylight, a BBC New Music Award winning 7 piece ensemble featuring vocalist Lizzy Parks (Tru Thoughts) and pianist Rob Barron (Nostalgia 77 / Jay Electronica). Within months of forming, the band performed shows at Birmingham Symphony Hall’s new live venue and London’s Royal Festival Hall to a capacity crowd as part of London Jazz Festival in addition to summer festival shows. The band released their debut album ‘Almighty’, on BBE Records in 2016.
