BBE Staff Selections 2016
Blurb from BBE:
“In what’s become something of a tradition in the BBE office, we’re once again closing out the year with a hand-picked selection of highlights from the last 12 months. It’s been a special 2016 for us at BBE: celebrating our 20th birthday, opening our own record store in London and having the continued privilege of working alongside so many of our favourite artists to release more incredible music, both old and new.
This year has seen re-issues of classic material by The Ted Coleman Band, Sun Palace, The People’s Workshop, Moods and even a J Dilla release on limited edition cassette tape. We’ve been bowled over by new material from DJ Spinna’s ‘Jigmastas’, Kon, DJ Vadim and Beatspoke. We’ve welcomed new artists Deep Tenor City, Rive Gauche, Kid Sublime & The Incognito Traveller to the BBE family, at the same time mourning the sad passing of our friend Rim Kawku Obeng, who sadly never got to witness the excitement and fascination around his two stellar BBE re-issues.
So without further ado, we present our Staff Selections for 2016 and wish you all a safe, happy and healthy festive season. See you next year!”
Maylight’s ‘Beat of the Heart’, produced by Chris Read features at Track 18.
