Suburban Architecture – Architecture Dub #005 (4hero / Voyager)

  • Release date: 2025-03-05
  • Label: Suburban Architecture
  • Catalog #: DUBARC#005

Suburban Architecture are pleased to announce the fifth in their ‘Architecture Dubs’ series of limited edition 10″ vinyl releases, which sees some of the most revered names active during the mid 90s golden era of Drum & Bass deliver remixes of Suburban Architecture material in homage to that most innovative of periods.

Following on from the now sold out release of Architecture Dub #001 to #004 (featuring remixes from Peshay, Blame, Nookie, Ray Keith among others), edition #005 enlists two further legendary names to put their stamp on the duo’s material.

From bona fide classics in the fledgling rave scene of the early 90s to their Mercury Award nominated Drum & Bass opus ‘Two Pages’, via genre defining Broken Beat releases there’s barely a corner of British Black music that has not been touched meaningfully by the powerhouse act 4hero. From the jazz-infused output of the Visioneers and the Jungle classics of Tom & Jerry to the Hardcore sonics of Manix, 4hero have excelled in every genre they operate within, with a seemingly endless collection of monikers to match. For this remix, 4hero bring lush strings, live instrumentation and crystal clear production to the table, creating a track that is very much reminiscent of their ‘Two Pages’ era Drum & Bass pinnacle.

Voyager is yet another producer with serious pedigree in the game: with material released on seminal labels including Good Looking, R&S, Lucky Spin, Creative Source and Dee Jay Recordings, his influential releases are too numerous to mention. From the intelligent sounds of the mid 90s to the tech step defining DJ Trace collab ‘Sniper’, Voyager (aka Pete Parsons)’s output has shaped movements in the genre. For this remix, Parsons lowers the tempo, layering dreamy, grainy textured pads over sparkling drum production to deliver a standout remix in this series.

Pressed on 10″ vinyl and housed in brown Kraft paper sleeves, the series makes visual reference to the exclusive dubplate pressings which introduced so many classic cuts to the UK’s dancefloors in the 90s.
